With over 70 pieces of heavy equipment, like bulldozers, front-end loaders, skid steers, and several others, HCA is the Country’s only school that guarantees one piece of equipment per student. Our instructors know first-hand what it takes to be successful in the heavy construction business. Unlike most companies that require a certain level of experience before you’re even considered, HCA offers dedicated heavy equipment operator career services. Any “hands-on” learner can excel with Heavy Construction Academy’s heavy operator programs. We provide ample classroom instruction and clearly demonstrate heavy construction operations during field work. Students have the opportunity to take a seat in each one of the pieces of equipment taught through our instruction. This includes: Front End Loader, Skid Steer, Backhoe, Off-Road Dump Truck, Vibratory Compact Roller, Bulldozer, Motor Grader and Excavator. This allows our students to put into practice the skills they learn in the classroom setting. After our students have completed their classroom and field training, they will have the training necessary to become a Heavy Equipment Operator. They’ll understand how to physically operate the machines and have the mental capabilities to excel in their new career. We offer resources that benefit our students search for their new job and will be able to receive support from our Career Services Department even after graduation.

Our certification programs are separated into weeks. The first three weeks of your HEO Certification program will dive students into the Front End Loader, Backhoe, Articulated Dump Truck and Skid steer. Classroom learning modules will include Introduction to the Trade, Basic Operational Techniques, Heavy Equipment Safety, Preventative Maintenance, and Grades I. The second half of your journey will include certification on additional certifications. These certifications include Excavator, Bulldozer, Vibratory Roller and Motor Grader. Additional classroom learning modules include Advanced Operational Techniques, Excavation Calculations, Site Layout, Earth Moving, Grades II.
